ReplyDeleteHaha. Introduction of Idea Man is awesome in issue 5. The scouring has scorched the earth except the safe havens. The restoration begins and next issues gives us the following 8 years. On to issue 6.
ReplyDeleteNice. Just finished the first 8 year. The scorching got rid of most of the earths population. The story follows the Bad-Bangs punk band and their quest to find salvation called Music City. I like how Art is really all earth has left to offer and if the planet is going to die, might as well enjoy it by writing music. Off to issue 7, where we will learn how the Zhangs handle their young daughters wish. How do they convince a child to make a wish that is good.
ReplyDeleteIssue 7 done and once again so much to unpack. Idea man is dead by the hands of Robbie. Many of the safe havens have destroyed each other by cancelling their wishes out. Robbie befriends the Zhang’s daughter Betty whose parents have died. But in the last few panels everyone ends up dying pretty much of old age. Only Betty remains and flies off with one wish left, I. Her rainbow colored flying unicorn. Haha. On to the next 8 centuries. At this point; the only one left is Betty who lost her wish way back in issue 1 - when she wished for love. Onto last issue.
ReplyDeleteIssue 8. Only 2 genies remain and we finally get some folklore as to why genies appear. Turns out every time earth reaches 8 billion, genies arrive ti curve our population. It’s called G-day when this happens. The one remaining genies gets the privilege of turning into a human to live with the remaining population in the new world with the final wish. Our remaining genie plans to save his wish for the next G-day
ReplyDeleteFinished last issue. What a great way to end such a fantastic story. The cycle starts again. Is it possible we may see a second volume on this title? Perhaps?
