Conan the Barbarian (Titan Comics)

ROBERT E. HOWARD’S LEGENDARY CONAN IS BACK IN A NEW TALE OF BRAVERY AND HEROISM!

CONAN THE BARBARIAN FCBD EDITION LEADS INTO THE DEBUT ISSUE!

Years after the battle of Venarium, a weary CONAN returns to his homeland to seek rest and solitude. However, a mysterious scout rides in to war n the Cimmerians of an imminent threat on the march from the Pictish wilderness. Will CONAN and his new ally be able to hold off this new horde of invaders?

I'm really enjoying this series, especially after the recent Marvel Conan run.  Marvel was a fun read; but Titan Comics is really bringing Conan back to its original roots.   Great series so far!

  4. Read issue 4. Conan meets Brule in the underworld, a Pike Warrior, who asks Conan to avenge his fallen warriors who battled a living black tower to their demise. Conan accepts without hesitation and spares his life as a result. Conan holds true to his word and rids the black tower of its even only to find the tower collapse. Unbeknownst to Conan, Brissa was trapped inside. The end of the first story arc. Off to issue 5.

  5. Issue 5 and 6 were great. Conan joins a band of thieves who steal a magic artifact. Issue 6 ends with the female protagonist being infected only to turn on Conan while he sleeps. On to issue 7.

  7. Finished issue 7. The band of thieves is no more and final panels show Evil spirits have taken control of Conan. I can’t wait for Issue 8 to arrive. This is by far the best series I’ve read in a very long time.

  8. Finished issue 8. Holy crap, what an ending. Conan, taken over by the three evils spirits, who are hunting on behalf of Tulsa Doom, goes on a murderous rampage in search of an ancient artifact, a sword that was once a spear. He finds it after much death. Final panels see Conan, still under control, stabbing himself in the heart and finding himself in the afterlife with our pict warrior from issue 1. This issue is riddled with flashbacks of Belit only to end with the equally captivating Poct, Brissa. Is this somehow a new page for Conan? I cannot wait for issue 9.

  9. Conan is show how transported back to the Pre-Cataclysmic age, where he makes heroes from the past, King Kull and Brule the Spear Slayer. The final panels see Conan fighting King Kull who are interrupted by the guards calling for both men’s arrest. We learn that shape shifters are plaguing the era and it is unclear who might be one of them. On to issue 10.

  10. Not sure what’s happened to the shape shifters as they do not make an appearance in this issue. However, see our protagonists Conan, Kull and Brule travel to the Coast of Aquilonia only to discover a massive hole in the ground where a once bustling city stood. Kull is in dismay at the sighting. Issue 11 is titled “in the depths”, so I guess Conan and crew will be exploring the wonders inside the pit. Can’t wait for ish 11.
