Briar

What if Sleeping Beauty never got her happily ever after… and instead had to save herself?

Set in a brutal fantasy world that time forgot, this isn’t the fairy tale you know!

Eisner Award-nominated writer, producer, and director Christopher Cantwell (Iron Man, The United States of Captain America, Halt and Catch Fire) and rising artist Germán Garc a (Ka-Zar: Lord of the Savage Land) reimagine the classic tale as an epic dark fantasy adventure.

I totally forgot about this book after picking up issue #1 some time ago.   Need to give this series a read.  Art by German Garcia is amazing.

  1. Great first issue with awesome art. The story opens with our sleeping beauty who well asleep is married to Rodion. She wakes after eons to find her homeland gone. Once captured, she and her friend protagonist learn of a legend, evolving the awakening of a sleeping princess the final panels end with our two protagonist, leaving the desert to see where their tail takes them.

  2. About halfway through issue too, and I’m having a hard time finishing this book. The story takes a dive into prophecy which I don’t really connect to. The characters are also introducing a way that doesn’t really interest me. I think I’ll take a break on this series and move onto others. Maybe I’ll come back to this another day.
