I finally decided after five years of reading comic books to hop on an X-Men series. This one is from Gail Simone and starts with the X-Men not having a home. A perfect jump jumping on spot for the X-Men titles. Gilles Simone also introduces what looks like is going to be an amazing character called Mutina in issue 17. Let’s give the run a go!

    The X-men are scattered about. Professor X is gone. Logan, Rogue and Gambit take on the Red Dragon and negotiate a deal? Odd. Haha. We meet a new character, Fawn who is being chased down by some dark being. And finally night crawler, and team visit the sick kids hospital and meet a child mutant, who passes suddenly. The X-men trio debate their purpose. What’s left for the X-men? The final panel introduces us a bunch of new X-men younglings. Onto issue 2 to see where this story goes.

    Just finished issue 2 where we get to meet the Outliers, a young band of mutants, who foolishly decide to take on our current uncanny mutants. After loosing, rogue and the others decide to help them. Who are they running from though? Enter The Hag from the final panel. Excellent series. I love Gale Simone’s writing and the art from Marquez is absolutely incredible. Onto issue 3.

    Just finished issue 3. This is my favorite comic this summer by far! I ever thought I’d be this much into an X-men title; but I can’t get enough of this one. We learn more about the characters that make up the outliers. Logan leaves only to be hunted by Sarah Gaunt, an old friend of Xavier, who goes by the Swamp Hag who appears to be killing Logan. Onto issue 4.

    Finished issue 4. Rogue and Nightcrawler rescue Wolverine from the Swamp Hag. Rogue stays behind to finish the battle only to be beat by the Hag - or so we think? Final panels show the Swamp Hags minions attacking the Bayou house in an attempt to get the kids, the Outliers. A battle will ensue in Issue 5. Is Rogue ok?
